Valorant Update: Riot Games confirms Escalation Mode for Valorant

Valorant patch update 2.03: Riot Games confirms Escalation Mode for Valorant: While there have been leaks surrounding a new mode that will be present in Valorant, Riot Games has finally revealed things that we can expect from this mode, which is being called the Escalation Mode. Nothing like the general 5v5 gameplay of Valorant, the Escalation Mode will have a different set up all together. The game cannot even be classified as Deathmatch or even Spike Rush, however, it is much similar to the Gun Game that most players have seen in Call of Duty. The new game mode will go live on February 17th after a new patch update.

What is the Valorant Escalation Mode?

In this mode, players start the match with guns that have a higher fire rate, most of the powerful ones in the game, and move to more challenging and less-lethal ones. This game is very similar to the Gun Game players have seen in Call of Duty or PUBG Mobile. This mode has gained a lot of popularity since it was initially introduced.

What does the new Valorant patch update offer?

  • 5v5 team-based gameplay
  • Semi-randomized guns & abilities
  • Average match time: 8 minutes

How to win Valorant’s Escalation Mode?

  • When the match starts, players get one of the gun sets, starting from the most powerful. 12 weapons/abilities will be made available from ‘most lethal’ to ‘least lethal.’
  • A team must get a certain number of kills/points in each of the 12 stages before they can move on to the next stage.
  • Each player has to level up their own weapon in order to move to the next level. Even if a squad moves on to the next Escalation level, individual players have to get enough kills to move on to the new weapon.
  • All players will be able to use their basic abilities and each level will unlock an ability or weapon for players.
  • If there is a case when no team clears all escalation levels within 10 minutes, the team in the lead will be labelled as the winner.
