Valorant Update: Valorant to introduce new agents, big changes also coming up in Yoru and Viper

Valorant Update: Valorant just hinted at the inclusion of a new Agent in the list of existing Agents. This new Agent is going to be a Controller, as Valorant’s John Gosicki points out. He further goes on to say that the “galaxy controller” is expected to have a “cosmic shift from the play patterns you’ve grown accustomed to.”

“This one is for all you ‘galaxy brain’ players out there that like to study everything that happens on a map,” Gosicki said.

Gosicki also says that none of the agents that have been introduced by now has been disruptive enough when it comes to the gameplay they have to offer. Valorant has had a history of adding Agents through many updates and since launch, popular agents with great abilities have been added. They are Duelist, Initiator, Sentinel, and Controller. The game launched with 10 agents and Reyna, Killjoy, Skye were added eventually. The latest addition to this count is Yoru.

Changes and Buffs for Viper and Yoru

This “cosmic” controller will be joining Brimstone, Omen, and Viper. While two of the most interesting Agents have been Viper and Omen, it is Omen who has gained a lot of popularity amongst the casual, ranked, and pro players across many regions. Both Brimstone and Viper have been downgraded to niche picks for certain maps. For Viper, Gosicki says, there could be some changes that players can expect to see sometime soon.

In the post, Gosicki said “She has a really unique spot within the roster, and we want to make sure that any work we do goes towards highlighting the specific play patterns she represents, in conjunction with her power fantasy.”

Gosicki said the team isn’t very happy with the kind of success Yoru’s toolkit has had over his first few weeks in Valorant. “We’ve noticed that mastery of his infiltration tools are not leading to the level of success we’d hoped for. So, given the current state of Yoru, we’re looking into some near future buffs,” Gosicki says.
