Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021: RCB’s Padikkal hits consecutive tons ahead of IPL 2021; Karnataka wins by 9 wkts– Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener Devdutt Padikkal smashed an unbeaten ton against Kerala in Vijay Hazare Trophy on Friday. His innings included 13 fours and two sixes. He had earlier smashed 152 runs in his previous innings against Odisha. The signs are positive for his IPL franchise ahead of the IPL 2021 season. He provided good starts to the team in the previous edition of cash-rich league.

Talking about the run chase, Karnataka Skipper R Samarth also smashed a half-century and provided a great start to Karnataka in their 278 run chase.  Meanwhile, Siddharth also remained unbeaten on 88.

Karnataka needs 278 runs to win. After a flurry of wickets at the start of the innings, Vathsal and the captain of Kerala, Sachin Baby steadies the show for Kerala. both the batsmen notched up their individual landmarks of half-centuries and assured their dug-out that they were headed to a decent total. Though after the fall out of Sachin Baby, Vathsal still continued with his innings but eventually perished just 5 runs before his Ton. Mohammed Azharuddeen’s quick fifty helped Kerala to collect some quick runs at the back end of the innings as they managed to put up a fighting total on the board.
