The man to capture the precious IPL and PKL deals for Vivo, Vive Zhang has stepped down from his position as the Chief Marketing Officer. He is likely to get a new role in the organization.
Vivek has fetched most-valuable deal in the Indian Premier League history as Vivo garnered the title sponsorship rights for a five-year period at a stunning Rs 2,199 crore rupees. Vivek was also the key decision maker when the Chinese smartphone brand has made a successful Rs 300-crore pitch for the Pro Kabaddi League title sponsorship rights at Rs 60 crore per annum. That remains the top title sponsorship commitment for a non-cricketing sports league in India.
Vivek Jhang refused to comment at this moment.
The BBK Electronics group subsidiary is reportedly reshuffling the key company portfolios for its India operations. Zhang is expected to get a new role in the company.
Vivek has charted out extremely aggressive marketing plans, which have made Vivo one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in India. The brand has gone past its sister and rival concern Oppo in the Quarter Two smart phone revenue share for the Indian market as Vivo registered Rs 131 billion sales to Oppo’s Rs 115 billion.
