Fancied Dabang Delhi KC will take on Patna Pirates in a Pro Kabaddi League 2019 encounter at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, at 7:30 pm today.
Placed second on the PKL 2019 points table and firm favourites in the title race for the season, Dabang Delhi hold an overall edge against the Pirates, who place lingering in the ninth position in the 12-team league, which has been the second most watched sport after cricket on Indian television ever since the start of the season.
Table toppers Bengal Warriors have 73 points from 19 matches. Dabang Delhi are well poised to top the table today as they have 72 points and played two matches less than the Bengal team.
In fact when India toured the West Indies, PKL has drawn better ratings on BARC charts than cricket. The lead though was primarily on the better broadcast timings of kabaddi as cricket games took place late at night for Indian audience.
The 12-team league is the biggest and longest professional sports league in the country with all the teams playing each other twice in a double round-robin format.
Star Sports, the majority stake-holder in the League IPL through its special purpose vehicle Mashal Sports, has assured a broadcast plan that ensures the No. 1 non-cricket league in the country reaches out to every kabaddi lover. The Pro Kabaddi League Season is broadcast live on seven Star Sports network channels with simultaneous streaming on Star India’s video on demand platform Hotstar.
The fans can catch the LIVE action from 7:30 pm on Star Sports 1 Hindi, India’s No. 1 sports channel for the past two months, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 HD, Star Sports 1 Tamil, Star Sports 1 Kannada, Star Sports 1 Telugu and Star Sports 1 Marathi. Hotstar will stream all the PKL Live feed.
