Vivo has India’s two best sports marketing spots under its belt – titles of market leader Indian Badminton League and now the second best on charts Pro Kabaddi League. The next on the list of sporting associations will be India’s ‘national sport’ – Hockey.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is in the process of inking a ‘Presenting Partner’ association with the Hockey India League for a two year period. The information is revealed by none other than brand’s chief marketing officer, India, Vivek Zhang.
Hockey India though denied to confirm the report. “We are not aware of it. Thus, we have no comment to offer,” said Hockey India CEO Elena Norman’s office.
Hockey India League currently has commercial partnerships with Coal India Limited, Airt.el, Hero Motocorp, Lava Mobiles, Indian Oil, ONGC, hosts broadcasters STAR Sports and apparel partners Shiv Naresh
Vivo along with its sister concern has earmarked a Rs 2,200 crore marketing budget for its India operations, which will exceed the combined spend of Samsung, LG, Vieocon & Sony for the corresponding period.
