WFI vs Vinesh Phogat: Good news for Vinesh Phogat, Wrestling Federation pardons champion wrestler, WFI allows her to compete at the World Championship trials: All is well if it ends well & it has ended well for the India’s most celebrated female wrestler Vinesh Phogat. The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has decided to revoke the temporary suspension on Vinesh after the later had earlier apologised through a written reply. It is worth noting that on account of ‘indiscipline at the Tokyo Olympics’ WFI had announed a ban on Vinesh & fellow wrestler Sonam Malik.

WFI vs Vinesh Phogat – Vinesh Phogat Pardoned: As WFI has pardoned the champion wrestler, she will be eligible to compete at the trials conducted by the federation for the forthcoming World Wrestling Championships.

“WFI has always looked after our wrestlers. We never do anything with any malafide intent. The message was to be passed & as Vinesh & others have apologized, WFI has decided to pardon them with a warning that in future these things should not be repeated”, declared one of the top official in WFI.

This means not only Vinesh but two other wrestlers, Sonam Malik and Divya Kakran also have been pardoned after a warning by WFI.

Tokyo Olympics – Vinesh Phogat vs WFI: Why was Phogat suspended?

WFI had temproarily suspended on account indiscipline during the Tokyo Olympics. Phogat, who exited from the Tokyo Games following her shock quarterfinal defeat, was suspended by the WFI for not staying and training with her Indian teammates and for sporting a singlet of her personal sponsor instead of an official one supplied by the Indian contingent.

Phogat has admitted that she inadvertently wore the wrong singlet and apologized for the mistake in her reply but at the same time denied charges of indiscipline and not training with her Indian teammates.

WFI vs Vinesh Phogat: Will Vinesh Phogat compete at the World Championship trials? According to the information available, it is unlikely that Vinesh in the current circumstances will compete at the World Wrestling Championship trials. She is likely to skip the event like her fellow wrestlers Ravi Dahiya and Bajrang Punia. 

In all likelihood both Sonam Malik and Divya Kakran will be seen in action at the trials.
