WI beats AUS – Chris Gayle: Chris Gayle dashed all concerns of his poor form as the West Indies legend clubbed a startling half-century in the 3rd T20I vs Australia. The Universe Boss was relentless as the hosts made a mockery of the 142-run target, chasing it down in just 15 overs to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. The highlight of Gayle’s innings was his hat-trick of sixes off Adam Zampa, as he continues to scale new peaks in the shortest format of the game.

WI beats AUS: Chris Gayle was back with a bang on Tuesday as he smashed the Australia bowling attack to all parts of the ground to help West Indies claim the series with two matches to play. The Kings XI Punjab star scored a 38-ball 67, laced with four boundaries and seven sixes. Of those seven sixes, three came on the bounce against Adam Zampa in the 11th over of the innings.

WI beats AUS: Having scored at a measured rate up to that point, Gayle let lose against Zampa picking up 22 runs from his third over, with a hat-trick of sixes and a boundary to bring up his first T20I half-century since 2016. The Universe Boss hit two more in succession in the next over from Riley Meredith, before finally perishing for 67. The West Indies legend’s innings ensured that the hosts chased down the target inside 15 overs, and take an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the series.

WI beats AUS: Chris Gayle in the process became the first batsman in history to reach 14,000 T20 runs. The 41-year-old is the leading run-scorer in the format and is comfortably ahead of his next best challenger and West Indies teammate Kieron Pollard, by at least 3,000 runs. Gayle also became the oldest player to score a half-century in the limited-overs format among full member nations and has scored over 1000 runs since turning 40. The Universe Boss is just months away from turning 42 and has his sights set on a potential third T20 World Cup title later this year.
