WI vs AUS, 1st T20I: Nicholas Pooran set to be dropped, Shimron Hetmyer to get chance as Windies aim to get back to winning track – Kieron Pollard’s West Indies side will play the first T20I of the five-match series against Aaron Finch’s Australian side here at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia on Saturday. T20 star batsman Nicholas Pooran is going through a bad patch and could be replaced by Shimron Hetymer who was added to the squad ahead of the Australia series.

WI vs AUS, 1st T20I: West Indies are coming into this series after facing a series defeat against South Africa in their own backyard while Australia will be back in action after a long gap as they last played in March against New Zealand.

WI vs AUS, 1st T20I: Windies are the defending champions of the ICC T20 World Cup and they are yet to finalise their squad for the WC which will take place later this year in UAE. Key players such as Chirs Gayle and Nicholas Pooran are struggling with the form while left-arm pacer Obed McCoy will play a crucial role to tame the Australian batting attack as other bowlers are still trying to find a rhythm. Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis are in blistering form and will lead the charge for the host.

WI vs AUS, 1st T20I: On the other hand, Australia will miss the services of veteran David Warner and Pat Cummins for the West Indies series. However, they have the likes of Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Starc, who are regarded as the best T20 talents in the country. 

Australia are ranked third in the ICC T20 rankings while West Indies are at the seventh spot however with the kind of T20I talents both the teams have it will be a mouthwatering contest for fans.
