WI vs SA 1st Test: Nkrumah Bonner ruled out of opening Test with a concussion- West Indies batsman Nkrumah Bonner has been ruled of the opening Test between West Indies vs South Africa at St Lucia after he was diagnosed with a concussion. He was replaced by Kieran Powell as a substitute. The batsman top-edged the very first delivery he came out to bat off the bowling of Anrich Nortje. He attempted to hook the short delivery but got hit on the helmet. He appeared unconscious and the fitness coach immediately took a look on the field. He faced 10 runs off 32 balls and did not take the field when the West Indies came out to bowl.

Bonner’s replacement Powell took the field after and he will next come out to bat at his place. The latter can make it count as he is yet to play for the West Indies since 2018.
