Wimbledon 2021: Nick Kyrgios battles ‘slippery grass-court’ to defeat Ugo Humber in 5 sets thriller as match extends to another day-  In the end, it took 10 games to separate Nick Kyrgios and Ugo Humbert and it was the maverick Australian who knocked out the No.21 seed in five captivating sets.

Kyrgios won 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 9-7 after engineering three break points on the Frenchman’s serve at 7-7. He claimed the third and although he immediately found himself 0-30 and then 15-40 on his own serve, he steadied himself before serving himself to victory.

The players had been forced by the curfew to leave No.1 Court just before 11pm on Tuesday with the score poised at 3-3 in the fifth set. On their return, the left-handed Humbert immediately held serve under the open roof.

When the two met at the Australian Open in February, Kyrgios won in five sets on a raucous, hot evening. It was a good deal cooler here but the result was the same.
