Three FIFA World Cup 2018 venues in Russia have a strong India connect.

What connects the three FIFA World Cup venues in Russia – Rostov Arena, Volgograd Arena and Kaliningrad? The Indian paint brand, Berger Paints is one of the strong Indian connects with the FIFA World Cup 2018.

These three venues among the 12 stadiums that are holding FIFA 2018 World Cup matches in Russia are pained in the colours of the Indian paint brand – Berger Paints.

Rostov Arena, Volgograd Arena and Kaliningrad stadium have been painted with material supplied by Berger Paints Russia, a fully-owned subsidiary of Berger Paints India. The Kolkata-headquartered multi-national paint brand has confirmed its impressions on the Rostov Arena, Volgograd arena and the Kaliningrad stadium in an official statement.

Kaliningrad Stadium, also called Arena Baltika, on Oktyabrsky Island is hosting four World Cup 2018 games. The Rostov Arena is a recently opened in the city of Rostov-on-Don, playing host to five World Cup 2018 games. The Volgograd Arena in Volgograd is hosting four matches.

“It took almost 20-24 months and 200 kilo-litres of Berger Paints to complete the iconic project,” the company said.

“It involved a long thought process in the selection of the appropriate colours for painting these stadiums and finally, the creamy grey colour was used. Berger Paints Russia completed this project in association with its local business partner Picante Paints & Varnishes,” the company added further.

The weather-proof paint was used for both interiors and exteriors of all the three stadiums.
