The peak attendance at the Nandini Nagar Mahavidyalaya during the four-day national championship can put many of the best-attended cricket matches in the country to shame. The 50,000 turn out on a single day is unheard of at any national championship in India. The Tata Motors 63rd Men’s and 21st Women’s Wrestling Championship if evaluated for the footfall may simply find a place in the national records’ books for the 50,000 fans turning out on a single day.

Wrestling in Nandini Nagar, Gonda, has been as much popular as the local Member of Parliament and Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

“Wrestling has always been a popular sport in Nandini Nagar. The new-found status and media support has made it a rage among thousands of fans anywhere you go in India.
