WTC Final LIVE Final Day – India vs New Zealand LIVE: Indian pacer Mohammad Shami put up a standout performance on Day 5 of World Test Championship Finals (WTC Final) as he pick 4/76 to bring India back into the game. Shami during the post match conference urged that Indian batting unit needs to put enough runs on board, if India are to try and win the contest against New Zealand on the Reserve day of the WTC Final.

“We have to focus on getting runs. We need enough runs on the board and proper backup,” he told the reporters.

WTC Final LIVE Final Day – India vs New Zealand LIVE: Shami took a four-wicket haul to help India get back on the top on Day 5 of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand on Tuesday. Shami removed veteran Blackcaps batsman Ross Taylor, BJ Watling, Colin de Grandhomme, and Kyle Jamieson on Day 5. Shami now has the best figures by an Indian in ICC events finals.

Tim Southee, on the other hand, said New Zealand were pleased to take a couple of wickets (Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill) against India ahead of the final day. “It’s nice to get those two tonight and it’s shaping up for an intriguing day tomorrow.”  He feels that the first couple of hours will be very crucial on Day 6 as the two best batsmen are still out there at the crease.

Tim Southee claimed the wickets of the Indian openers in the third and final of the fifth day of the WTC final against New Zealand. India have taken a lead of 32 with Kohli and Pujara unbeaten at 8 and 12 respectively.

Tim Southee provided New Zealand with the breakthrough as he trapped Shubman Gill in front of the stumps for 8. Gill became Southee’s 600th international wicket.
