WTC Final LIVE, IND vs NZ: Cheteshwar Pujara’s poor run continues, scores 8 off 54 in crucial match against Kiwis- India’s batting mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara, who has failed to perform well in last few Tests, has once again failed to do well in 1st innings of the World Test Championship final against England. The No.3 batsman perished for just 8 runs off 54 deliveries.

He got plenty of time at the crease but his struggle on field did not last long. Pujara departed shortly after he was smashed on the helmet by a ripper of a delivery from Neil Wagner in the 37th over.

The nasty delivery from Wagner was bowled at a speed of 130 kmph and finally scummbed to Trent Boult for just 8 runs.

  • Pujara is struggling with the bat off late.

New Zealand was Pujara’s best chance to get his form back. He has scored 749 runs in 9 Tests (17 innings) at an average of 46.81 which included a couple of centuries and 4 fifties.

Though in England his average dips. He has scored 500 runs in 9 Test matches (18 innings) at an average of just 29.41 in England.

Earlier, Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to field. India openers Shubman Gill (28) and Rohit Sharma (34) added 62 runs for the opening wicket and gave India a decent start.
