WTC Final: NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reacts to New Zealand’s World Test Championship win – New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern congratulated Kane Williamson’s New Zealand cricket team on winning the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) by beating Virat Kohli’s India in the final in Southampton.

WTC Final: “The Black Caps have made New Zealand proud. This was a masterful performance from a team at the top of their game and on top of the world. Kane Williamson and the team leadership have built a brilliant and humble squad who have become an inspiration to many New Zealanders,” Ardern said in a statement.

WTC Final: After facing heartbreaking defeat in the 2015 and 2019 World Cup final Blackcaps final managed to end their trophy drought and win an ICC event. This is their first ICC trophy after Champions Trophy win in 2000 under Stephen Fleming, which also came against India in Nairobi.

WTC Final: Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor starred with the bat as New Zealand thrashed India to win the WTC Final in Southampton on Wednesday. After bowling out India for just 170, Williamson and Taylor stitched 96* runs unbeaten partnership to easily chase a target of 139 runs. Williamson stayed unbeaten on 52* and the most experience Kiwi batsman stayed unbeaten on 47*

WTC Final: Kyle Jamieson who picked the wicket of India captain Virat Kohli twice was named the man of the match. Jamieson picked seven wickets in the game including a fifer in the first innings.
