WTC Final – Ravi Shastri congratulates Williamson: As New Zealand lifted the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship by defeating Team India by eight wickets in Southampton, congratulatory wishes are overflowing for the Blackcaps. Recently, Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri hailed New Zealand for winning the championship.

WTC Final – Ravi Shastri congratulates Williamson: Shastri posted a Tweet that read “Better team won in the conditions. Deserved winners after the longest wait for a World Title. Classic example of Big things don’t come easy. Well played, New Zealand. Respect.”

Amid the rain-wrecked unprecedented weather cards that gave irregular phases of cricketing action, Shastri praised the Kiwis for keeping their mental steel. He went a step further to acknowledge their performance on the ground and even adjudged them as ‘Better Team’ and ‘Deserved Winners’.

WTC Final: How did New Zealand execute their win?

WTC Final – Ravi Shastri congratulates Williamson: Unfazed by the weather conditions in Southampton, New Zealand had their plans intact and executed them with utmost finesse. Winning the toss, they chose to bowl reading the conditions and used them to their full advantage. They kept tumbling wickets for Team India and on the last day- their senior players Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor rustled them to the glorifying victory.

Collectively, with the bat, Devon Conway and Kane Willamson roared while with the ball Kyle Jamieson rose to fame with his fifer.
