WWE Backstage Rumors: WWE to Sign new superstar, Mercedes is not in RETRIBUTION, title change before Survivor Series, Chad Gable’s future – 09th November 2020

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around for this week’s WWE.

5) Why Mercedes Martinez Is Not In Retribution

Mercedes Martinez was originally in the RETRIBUTION faction. After a few appearances on RAW, she quietly left the group. We have an update for you on what happened.

According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of  Fightful Select (subscribe here), the word going around is that Martinez asked WWE to be removed from the group. This was prior to all of the faction members signing new contracts.

Our Take:

It will be interesting to see if Mercedes made the right decision. Based on how Retribution has been treated on the main roster so far, we would say that she did.

4) Title Change Coming Before Survivor Series?

According to a rumor from Cageside Seats, there is at least one title change expected to happen before Survivor Series.

Here is what the site wrote:

WWE so frequently mentioning title changes on television changing Survivor Series is because it’s expected there will be at least one title change before the show.

Our Take:

The best candidate to lost their belts are The New Day. They recently lost to The Hurt Business on RAW and we could see them dropping the belts to them before the event. Other than that, we don’t see any other title changes but we will have to wait and see.

3) Two Female Names Spotted At The Recent WWE Tryouts

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Elayna Black and Lacey Ryan were two names who attended the most recent WWE tryouts.

Elayna recently appeared on an episode of AEW Dark. She teamed up with Leyla Hirsch, facing off against Brandi Rhodes and Red Velvet.

Lacey is known for her independent work on the West Coast of the United States.

My Take:

We don’t know much about either of them but we are looking forward to seeing more.

2) WWE Does Have Interest In Thunder Rosa

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful says he has heard from sources in WWE that they would be interested in Thunder Rosa if she was available.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

She also specified she isn’t sure where rumors came from that WWE reached out to her, but Fightful has heard from WWE sources that they’d be interested in her if available.

Our Take:

My guess is that she will be heading to either WWE or AEW when her current contract expires at the end of 2021. We are leaning towards AEW But you never know.

1) Chad Gable’s Future

According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, there are several people in WWE who are pushing for Chad Gable to get more opportunities in WWE.

Here is what the site wrote about Gable and how Vince McMahon views him:

We were told by someone close to the creative process that there is optimism because Vince McMahon genuinely sees Gable as a tough guy and he admires what he accomplished before pro wrestling. The reason why he had the “Shorty G” gimmick in the first place was to help him…at least, that is how Vince McMahon felt when he gave him the gimmick.

It was noted to us that McMahon had Kurt Angle doing comedy early in his run because he felt that something was missing with him and that is the same reason why Gable was given the “Shorty G” gimmick last year.

The site also added that Daniel Bryan is one of the people who has been pushing for Gable the most:

Gable’s size may prevent him from reaching the same heights as Angle did in WWE but we are told that there are several people pushing ideas for him and one of the notable names who has been pushing for Gable continues to be Daniel Bryan.

Our Take:

We have always been a Gable fan, so we do hope that he gets more opportunities. He has a ton of potential and we are pulling for him.
