WWE Money in the Bank: 3 Reasons why Edge should win his first Universal Championship

WWE Money in the Bank Live: 2020 will always be remembered for the Rated-R Superstar Edge’s outlandish return. The former 11-time World Champion sent shockwaves to one and all when he made his way to the Royal Rumble match and lasted among the last three. However, his merry return was tarnished by Roman Reigns, who eliminated him from the Royal Rumble match.

Ever since then, an eventual Roman Reigns vs. Edge one-on-one bout had the fans buzzing. It was disheartening to see the two-man involved in a triple-threat match at Wrestlemania 37 alongside Daniel Bryan. But finally, we all are getting what we deserved i.e., a one-on-one encounter between the two stalwarts. Here, we have given three reasons why Edge should dethrone Roman Reigns and become the next Universal Championship.

WWE Money in the Bank: To get back the Championship he never lost

In 2011 when Edge suddenly announced his retirement courtesy of a neck injury, he had to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship. Upon his return, Edge has embarked on a journey to get back the Championship he never lost, and on this journey, he seems to be stoked than ever.

A win at the Money in the Bank PPV this Sunday would be nothing but monumental for the Rated-R Superstar, who has achieved everything this company had to offer. However, the Universal Championship is the only title eluded from his resume.

WWE Money in the Bank: To put an end to Roman Reigns’ Thunderdome era title-run

With no losses under his belt in one-on-one competition, the Thunderdome-era undeniably belonged to the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. After gaining possession of the Title at Payback last year, Roman is yet to be pinned or tap out.

However, an elated and sanguine Edge would be the perfect man to give Roman a taste of his own medicine. Edge’s win will be a befitting reminder of why the Rated-R Superstar is called the ultimate opportunist.

WWE Money in the Bank: To give a new dimension to Smackdown

No doubt, WWE Smackdown is the flagship show of WWE today. However, one can’t deny the fact it is because of the Roman Reigns & The Usos storyline. Other superstars on the roster haven’t been used to their full potential as Vince McMahon & Co have been busy pampering their Universal Champion.

Therefore, a championship triumph for Edge will lead WWE Smackdown on a peculiar path that may lead the writing team to give some fruitful run to other superstars as well. Thus, Edge’s Universal Championship triumph could open doors for further possibilities.
