WWE News: WWE continues firing talents. In the latest WWE news, as many as a dozen WWE NXT superstars have been shown the exit door midway during tonight’s WWE Smackdown, and the reason is yet to be known. The news came as a complete shocker, and the live audience in attendance on tonight’s Blue brand show was not at all cheering but sitting with pin-drop silence most of the time.

WWE didn’t back down on firing some of the top names from the Black & Gold brand, including Bronson Reed, Bobby Fish & Mercedes Martinez. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Figtful, superstars released are- Bobby Fish, Bronson Reed, Jake Atlas, Ari Sterling, Kona Reeves, Leon Ruff, Stephon Smith, Tyler Rust, WWE PC talent Zechariah Smith, Asher Hale, Giant Zanjeer, and Mercedes Martinez.

-This is the first lot of release for this month. The last WWE release came in the previous month when the former WWE and Universal Champion Bray Wyatt got released among others.

WWE News: The reason for all these sudden releases is yet to be known. However, according to a report generated by PWInsider, WWE has plans to repackage WWE NXT with a new Logo, new Lightings, and a different format. Further, the report stated that WWE wants NXT to be more focused on polishing young talent going forward. Tonight’s release was a major step towards this process.
Some of the superstars have already reacted on their official Twitter after their release, including the former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed- who was rumored to get a main roster run. Below is what he tweeted,

If this “housecleaning” is towards a change in how WWE NXT will appear from now on, it would be interesting to see what WWE is planning next for the Black & Gold brand.
