WWE News: Kevin Owens completes six years on WWE’s main roster

WWE News: Kevin Owens completes six years on WWE’s main roster: It’s already been six years since Kevin Owens showed up on Monday Night Raw and confronted the then United States Champion John Cena, who issued a United States Championship open challenge. Upon his unannounced arrival, no one thought he would be challenging John Cena to a match at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

Kevin Owens came with a flair and always had an unrealistic charisma associated with him. By the time he arrived on the main roster, he was already a big star in WWE NXT and was the NXT Champion at that time. He, along with Finn Balor was on the top of the ladder in WWE’s Black & Gold brand.

Fight ‘Owens’ Fight

Kevin Owens has always been a prizefighter. Be it WWE NXT or the main roster- he always had the charisma to attract audiences with his scintillating in-ring abilities.

In his main roster debut, he took down John Cena on Raw and then went on to defeat the 16-time World Champion in the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. The win was perhaps the biggest shocker of the year, but Kevin Owens stamped his authority as a main eventer.

Championships and Accolades

After making his debut as a part of the WWE NXT roster in 2014, Owens first held the NXT Championship by defeating his best friend and fellow Canadian Sami Zayn. Soon after his terrific victory, Owens turned heel by attacking Zayn with a powerbomb onto the ring apron, which sidelined Zayn for a few weeks.

After moving to the main roster in May 2015 as a part of Raw, Owens had a feud to remember with John Cena. His feud with John Cena got over after three grueling matches. After he was done with Cena, he was involved in the Intercontinental Championship picture. He went onto become the Intercontinental Champion by defeating Ryback at the 2016 Night of Champions pay-per-view.- This was his first title on the main roster. Later he held the Intercontinental title twice, United States Championship thrice, and Universal Championship title once in a career spanning for six years.

What’s next for Kevin Owens?

Owens is currently associated with WWE’s Blue brand i.e., Smackdown. In the upcoming episode, he is scheduled for a fatal 4-way match against Bug E, Sami Zayn, Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship. If Owens manages to win this match, he will become a 3-time Intercontinental Champion.
