WWE News- John Cena’s next movie project revealed: This WWE news piece is regarding the 16-time World Champion John Cena, who is all set to star as a U.S. Presidential candidate in his upcoming flick. “The Independent” will be a political thriller starring John Cena, Kathy Bates, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Brian Cox in pivotal roles.

This would be the first time when the 16-time World Champion will star in a political thriller. He has donned many characters in his Hollywood journey so far, but nothing like a United States Presidential candidate.
The movie is set during “the final weeks of the most consequential U.S. Presidential election in history,” and will follow the idealistic young journalist (Turner-Smith) who will team up with his idol (Cox) to reveal a conspiracy that reflects on the fate of the election and the country.

WWE News: When will the filming commence?
The Independent’s filming is scheduled to start from November in New York City, the same town where WWE Survivor Series PPV is slated at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Even Parter has written the movie and will be directed by the talented Amy Ric. Brian O’Shea, one of the executive producers of the movie, shared his excitement of having John Cena onboard. He expressed by saying,
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Kathy Bates and John Cena on The Independent. Kathy’s exceptional acting skills, paired with Cena’s global appeal and ability to transform on-screen, make them incredible additions to this film. We couldn’t be happier that they have signed on.”

WWE News: Will John Cena return at Survivor Series PPV?
John Cena is seemingly done with his WWE appearances for this year. He lost the Universal Championship bout to Roman Reigns in August at the Summerslam PPV and didn’t appear in any other televised program for the company.
WWE’s next PPV is Survivor Series, set for November 21, focused on brand supremacy. Cena will be filming for The Independent in New York City in November, and one could expect the 16-time World Champion to make an appearance at the PPV event. Will he appear? It remains interesting to see.
