WWE NXT Great American Bash: The post-NXT Takeover episode of the Black & Gold brand grabbed eyeballs with the return of Samoa Joe. In the opening segment of the show, Joe returned and confronted the NXT champion, Karrion Kross. General Manager William Regal was also present in the ring and offered his role to Joe, but the Samoan submission machine turned down the offer. However, he will be the special enforcer to Regal and won’t be competing inside the ring.

After the segment, the first match of NXT Great American Bash was announced that would take place between Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly. It was more of a forceful announcement as both the superstars got involved in a backstage brawl.

The match got announced in a backstage segment!

WWE NXT Great American Bash:: The two former members of The Undisputed Era had a backstage brawl with one another. The intensity of the brawl was high, and not even the security personnel could calm down. When things got out of control, it was up to the returning Samoa Joe who put Adam Cole to sleep and put an end to the conflict.

Besides their match at NXT Great American Bash on July 6, the two were announced for a match next week. Kyle O’Reilly will take on the NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida, whereas Cole’s opponent is yet to be decided. 

WWE NXT Great American Bash: Cole and O’Reilly have been in a heated rivalry ever since the disbanding of The Undisputed Era. They had a battle at NXT takeover as well before Adam Cole got involved in a feud with Finn Balor for the NXT Championship, and it was O’Reilly who earned a victory.
