Winner by Pinfall and new NXT North American Champion: Johnny Gargano

Initially I was a little disappointed by the Devil’s Playground stipulation, but this wound up being a really good match. Good move to have Gargano win the title. I just couldn’t get into Damian Priest as a face. I’m hoping for a husband and wife power couple.

Wade Barrett is dressed as Bad News Barrett while Vic Joseph is dressed as Waldo.

Pat McAfee is backstage with NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. We see a replay of McAfee helping them win the titles last week.

Cameron Grimes is freaking out backstage about his Haunted House of Terror match. NXT General Manager William Regal walks up to him. Grimes says he wanted a match in the ring, not a haunted house. Regal tells him to follow him.

NXT Tag Team Champions Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch are in the ring with Pat McAfee. McAfee says Halloween Havoc is the second greatest night this brand has had since NXT TakeOver XXX. The entire world agreed he had the greatest debut in the history of this business. People don’t agree with anything. Even the idiots of the internet wrestling community and the people in the arena can believe that.

At TakeOver XXX, Adam Cole could have congratulated him on what he accomplished, but that scumbag flexed on him. On his way back home on his private jet, all he could think about was Cole. McAfee is too busy to handle Cole, so he had Ridge Holland viciously take Cole out at TakeOver 31. After Holland got injured, he needed someone else to affect the Undisputed ERA. Lorcan and Burch couldn’t be bought. They went against the UE and lost, so they came to him. Now they’re champions.

Kyle O’Reilly makes his way to the ring. Pete Dunne returns and follows him with a steel chair in hand. Dunne hands O’Reilly a chair. They scare McAfee, Lorcan, and Burch to the apron. Dunne then hits O’Reilly in the back with the chair! Lorcan, Burch, and Dunne triple-team O’Reilly while McAfee watches on in glee. Dunne stomps O’Reilly’s face and bends his arm onto a chair. Dunne then stomps the arm! Lorcan and Burch then DDT O’Reilly on the chair. McAfee talks some trash and stands over him.

Good angle to bring back Pete Dunne and attack O’Reilly. Looks like we’ve got our teams for WarGames… when they announce it! Damn Pat McAfee cuts a good promo.

Backstage, William Regal leads Cameron Grimes outside. Grimes is flipping out and is next to a van. Out of the van pops Michael “P.S.” Hayes!

Escobar kicks Atlas down at the sound of the bell and attacks him in the corner. Escobar is dressed as Rey Mysterio from Halloween Havoc many moons ago. Atlas fires back at him with some right hands. Atlas knocks him back, sends him to the corner, and hits a back body drop. Atlas follows up with a flapjack for a two count. Atlas uppercuts him and hits a German Suplex. Atlas flattens him with a forearm shiver for a near fall. Atlas hits a cartwheel DDT, but Legado del Fantasma puts his foot on the ropes. Ripley vs. Gonzalez was actually pretty good. Ripley is ready for bigger shows while Gonzalez showed a ton of potential.

Grimes hits one of the zombies with a Cave In. Another zombie crawls all over Lumis, so Lumis press slams it into Grimes. Lumis then slams Grimes and applies the Kata Gatame for the win!

Winner by Knockout: Dexter Lumis

The zombies surround the unconscious Cameron Grimes in the ring. Lumis looks over and the lights go out. “The End” appears on the screen.

There’s just nothing Dexter Lumis can do to get me into him. I just don’t like this character. The Haunted House of Terror match was just super meh. They were going for lame horror flick and reached it, but it just didn’t click.
