WWE NXT: In the main event of tonight’s WWE NXT, Xia Li fought against Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship. It was a grueling encounter that saw Raquel defeating Li with a chokeslam and retaining her title. However, during the match, Li got injured and had to be attended by the medical personnel. The bout got halted for a while as the medical team was checking on her, but still, Xia Li fought hard to get her hands on the coveted NXT women’s title.

WWE NXT: Xia Li injury update

The match had everything on display, including an injury scare. Gonzalez performed a corner slingshot senton splash that saw her land directly on top of Li. Unfortunately, Li’s ribs got severely affected as she was unable to bring her hands up in time. 

Following the match, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has provided an update on Cia Li’s condition, and to everyone’s happiness, she seems to be ok. Ross took to his Twitter and wrote,

“For those asking about Xia Li, we were told she appeared okay backstage after NXT.”

In recent times, Xia Li has been one of the most dominating and intriguing women performers on the Black & Gold brand, and it seems like she will get yet another shot at the NXT Women’s Title in the near future. 

In the match tonight, she came all by herself without Tian Sha, but if she gets a title shot again in the future, she should consider bringing Tian Sha along for a better chance of winning the title.
