WWE Raw: Top 5 moments from June 22, 2020 episode

This week’s WWE Raw was special in more than one way. First, June 22, 2020, WWE Monday Night Raw was named ‘Championship edition’ and second, Rey Mysterio has returned. There were many high points this week, but there were some which stood out from the rest.

Here are top 5 moments from WWE Raw Live June 22, 2020:

A teaser into who will Drew McIntryre face for Universal Championship at Extreme Rules 202

Drew McIntyre kicked off the Monday Night Raw and just when he was about to make a point Dolph Ziggler interrupted. The Showoff took all the credit for the Scottish psychopath’s redemption story and demanded a title match at Extreme Rules 2020.

WWE women’s title match: Charlotte Flair vs Asuka

This rivalry between The Queen Flair and The Empress of Tomorrow Asuka has been going on for sometime. On Monday at Raw, Asuka was to defend her Women’s title against the nine-time champion. After a little more than 30 minutes jaw-dropping action Asuka locked Charlotte into the Asuka lock and successfully defended her title. Later, Charlotte got ambushed by Nia Jax, setting the stage for a possible triple threat match at Extreme Rules.

Edge, Christian, Randy Orton and Ric Flair

After an epic battle between the two at the Backlash 2020, Randy Orton has turned his attention towards Christian. In last week’s Raw episode, Christian during his “Peep Show’ asked for answers from the Viper for him turning into a heel. But Orton does not give any reply and attacks him instead with help from former Evolution member Ric Flair. But every action has its consequences.

And for the Legend’s Killer, it was in the form of Big Show. The largest athlete in the world made a surprising return to WWE Raw and called Orton’s actions ‘madness’ and asked him to explain it. Somehow, the latter escaped it and maybe this might be the start of a new feud.

Rey Mysterio returns to WWE Raw

Rey Mysterio returned to Raw Monday night, accompanied by his son, Dominik. He mentioned both pride and anger in his child for defending the Mysterio name a week ago before insisting on finishing things with Seth Rollins on his own.

Dominik said he wasn’t going anywhere and that this is what a family looks like.

Rollins arrived on the scene and teased taking out both father and son with the help of Murphy and Austin Theory. That is, until Humberto Carrillo and Aleister Black returned, fighting the heels off and standing tall alongside Mysterio and Dominik to close out the show.

Edge drops a bomb about his future with WWE

When Edge mentioned that he has big news on his future with WWE, everyone wondered if he would be retiring again. After all, the punishment induced on him by Orton was too much for the Rated R Superstar.

But interestingly he’s not done yet. In fact, he delivered one hell of a promo making it clear that not only will he be back, but he will be back as the Rated R Superstar.
