WWE News: WWE Hall of Famer Edge recently suffered a triceps injury against Randy Orton at Backlash in the “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever”. However, Edge lost this match against Orton in a nail-biting contest. He has already undergone surgery and will be on the sidelines for a while, just a few months after returning to in-ring action.
Few weeks ago during a WWE Raw segment Edge took a pledge that he will take avenge from Orton for his dirty mind game, once he gets back to in-ring action.
Moreover, WWE currently plan on concluding the Edge vs. Randy Orton feud at WrestleMania 37. According to Dave Meltzer revealed that in his latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has plan for Edge vs Randy at the grandest stage of them all at Wrestlemania 37 in a ‘I Quit Match’. Wrestlmania 37 is still nine months away from (28 March 2021) and anything can happen in this huge period of time but, WWE fans will be pleased to hear this news that two of the greatest superstars will meet in a jaw-dropping contest.
Their battle had previously scheduled on the biggest party of the summer at SummerSlam 2020 but due to Edge’s injury that match had been mustered out. And his return timetable remains unclear though a torn triceps typically comes with an eight-month recovery period.
Interestingly, Meltzer also notes that Edge currently has “significant creative influence on RAW” (with Daniel Bryan the same on SmackDown), with a source explaining that the sidelined star is currently part of the writing team.
Randy Orton is currently expected to face off against WWE champion Drew McIntyre at the upcoming WWE’s PPV SummerSlam. There has been talk of ‘The Viper’ taking the belt off McIntyre and defending it against Edge later on, though WWE’s future plans are always in flux.
