WWE: Rey & Dominik Mysterio share their experience of winning the Smackdown Tag-Team Championship: Rey Mysterio has been one of the most decorated superstars in the history of WWE. He has achieved success in all the phases of his WWE career. Already a Grand Slam Champion, there’s nothing left for Rey to achieve in his illustrious career.
Despite winning some great matches and championships, his recent Smackdown Tag team title victory alongside his son Dominik is perhaps the most special thing he could have ever imagined being in the company for nearly two decades.
The Mysterio’s etched their names in the history books by becoming the first-ever father-son duo in WWE to hold the tag-team titles. They defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode at Wrestlemania Backlash pay-per-view to achieve this feat.
“I feel like I’m on the top of the world”: Rey Mysterio
Rey and Dominik were in an interview with ESPN SportsNation. The father-son duo opened up about their extraordinary feat at Wrestlemania Backlash and a lot more. Speaking about his experience, Rey said,
“I feel like I am on top of the world right now. I don’t take anything away from all my accomplishments that I’ve gotten in the past.- This is just on a different level, the fact that I’ve been able to share the ring with Dominik. To be the first father and son tag team champions, it’s unbelievable, indescribable.”
Dominik, who was present with his father, also had his say on the remarkable achievement.
“Honestly, I am just so honored to share the ring with him (Rey Mysterio) every time I step in the ring. What a blessing to be able to come to work and do what I love with my dad. I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
