WWE Smackdown Friday Night Smackdown Results and Highlights:

The Mayor of Knoxville- Kane returns to Smackdown: As the Mayor of Knoxville, Kane introduces the EST of WWE- Bianca Belair. Kane hosted the interview. Bianca talked about how Knoxville has made her the EST of WWE.

She then talks about her challenger Becky Lynch and how desperate she is to beat her and regain the Smackdown Women’s Champion. Kane then says that if she beats Becky, she will return to Knoxville to celebrate her Championship victory. Kane then presents Bianca with a prestigious Key to Knoxville County.

Bianca then sings a song for Knoxville, but Becky Lynch interrupts the celebrations. It seemed like she came out to celebrate with Bianca as she said this is her night and offered a handshake.

Bianca shook her hands but then lifted her for a Kiss of Death, however, Becky didn’t let that happen and hit a manhandle slam on Bianca to end the segment. Becky didn’t look nearly as silly as last week & Bianca looked like a star in the segment.

 

 

Dominik Mysterio vs. Sami Zayn: Sami Zayn went straight into the face of Rey Mysterio who was there commentating for the match. Dominik chased Sami but the latter gets into the ring and starts his offense on Dominik with some vicious strikes.

Dominik now gets into the act and stuns Sami with some impressive moves on the ring ropes. Sami tried to give the same reply to Dominik with some moves on the ropes of his own but gets caught between the ropes and Domini hits him with a dropkick to send him outside the ring and then splashed from the top rope on Sami from the outside.

As we returned from the commercial, the two men were in the ring and Dominik hit him with a tornado DDT. He then takes Sami out with a 619 and went up to the top turnbuckle for a frog splash. But, Sami gets his knees up on time and rolls him up for a pinfall.

Backstage: Sonya Deville gets confronted by Naomi who is still looking for her first match on her return to the Blue brand. Naomi asked Sonya for a match but again she ignored her plea by saying that she would look into this next week as there’s not much time left for the show. This pisses of Naomi and she threatened Sonya for good this time.

 

 

Backstage: Finn Balor narrates the story of The Demon. He said that he isn’t like Roman Reigns who was born in a wrestling family, he was born in a family of railroad workers. He tells Roman Reigns and cousins The Usos how he will finish the former at the Extreme Rules PPV. Balor sums up his segment by saying, that he doesn’t summons the demon, but the Demon summons him.

 

 

Backstage: Carmella accepted Liv Morgan’s challenge while being attended for her injured nose by the medical team.

 

 

Liv Morgan & Toni Storm vs. Carmella & Zelina Vega: Storm and Carmella started the proceedings, but Carmella hit a cheap shot on Liv Morgan to send her down to the floor. Carmella then tagged Zelina who worked on Toni Storm. She bashed her with a few strikes.

Toni Storm then returned strong by delivering a powerful vertical slam to Zelina and then tagged in Liv Morgan meanwhile Zelina tagged in Carmella. Morgan took Carmella to the corner and bashed her face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Carmella badly injured her nose and went out of the ring to never return. She was somehow faking the injury to escape from the match. This resulted in the referee counting for 10 and Liv Morgan & Toni Storm picked up a count-out victory.

After the match got over, Liv Morgan challenged Carmella for a match at Extreme Rules PPV.

 

 

Seth Rollins addresses his actions on Edge from last week: Seth started off by saying last week he had one of the best matches of his career when he defeated the Rated-R Superstar. He said that what happened with Edge last week was unfortunate and compared the tickling sound of his boot hitting the stomp seemed like someone crushed a cockroach.

Seth rolled the footage of the match in brief from the last week. Once the footage was over, Seth asked the WWE Universe what were they expecting? He said he used the same move he has been using to win the majority of matches, so he didn’t regret what he did to Edge.

Seth then started blaming the WWE Universe for what happened to Edge. He then pointed out Beth Phoenix telling everyone at NXT that Edge is at home and recuperating. Seth continued and said that he is not done with Edge and asked for one more match against the Rated-R Superstar as he wants to finish Edge once and for all. So, if Edge is recuperating, Seth Rollins wants to face him soon for his own sanity.

 

 

Backstage: Paul Heyman and Big E had a faceoff and the two men talk about the possibilities of how Big E might face Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, or Finn Balor at Survivor Series. As Big E was done talking, The Usos attacked him in ambush.

 

 

Happy Corbin vs. Kevin Owens: As Kevin Owens was making his way to the ring, he got ambushed by an attack from Happy Corbin from behind. He continuously attacked him, sent him bashing on the barricade, and then chokeslammed him on the ring apron. The match could never really start as the referee decided to abandon the bout after Corbin’s vicious attack.

 

 

Rick Boogs vs. Robert Roode: As the match started Dolph Ziggler tried to distract Rick Boogs which gave Robert Roode an element of a second to attack Boogs. He attacked from behind and after a series of attacks Roode tries to go for a Glorious DDT, but Boogs counters him.

He hit a Samoan Drop on Roode followed by two side slams and finally ending him with his finisher Boogs Cruise. After winning the match, Rick Boogs went to the announce table along with Shinsuke Nakamura to celebrate his win.

Pat McAfee also joined the celebration, and while they were celebrating, Commander Azeer came out of nowhere and attacked Shinsuke & Rick Boogs in ambush. Apollo Crews was also there who was directing the attacks.

Backstage: Roman Reigns asks Paul Heyman if there is something he needs to tell him (Roman Reigns). Paul Heyman said that there’s no such thing.

Roman then asked him if he knew Brock Lesnar will be at Summerslam, to which Paul Heyman said that he didn’t know this and the matter of fact is that he knows that Brock fears Roman because he wouldn’t have come with a new intimidating look if he didn’t fear the Tribal Chief. Roman asks him if Brock would show up at Extreme Rules to which Heyman replied “no.” This led Roman to doubt Paul Heyman again.

 

Finn Balor & Big E vs. Finn Balor & Big E: Balor & Big E teamed up to take on The Usos. Balor & Jimmy Uso started the proceedings for either team. Balor worked on Jimmy before tagging in the new WWE Champion Big E. Jimmy tags Jey and the latter is dragged towards the apron where the WWE Champion splashed on him.

Jey was rocked with the splash, but he somehow powers Big E to his corner and tags in Jimmy. The Usos then laid a 2 on 1 attack on the WWE Champion with some heavy strikes. Jimmy then took Big E to the other corner and splashed on him. Big E somehow tags in Finn Balor who is taken out of the ring by a distraction from Jey and Jimmy dives on him from the top rope before heading to the commercial.

As we returned from the commercial, Finn Balor and Jimmy Uso were in the ring and Jimmy was decimating The Prince. Finn desperately needed to make a tag and he hit a Pele kick to get some space and tagged in Big E. The WWE Champion changed the complexion of the match. he came up with his quick moves and shattered The Usos.

In the closing moments of the match, Finn Balor entered the ring and hit sling blade on both Jimmy & Jey Uso. He then went on the top rope to hit Coupe de Grace on Jey Uso, meanwhile Big E hit a Big Ending on Jimmy Uso simultaneously to pick up a pinfall victory.

Roman Reigns & The Usos kick off the show: The Usos & Roman Reigns kick off Friday Night Smackdown. Roman Reigns takes the mic and starts with “Knoxville- Acknowledge Me.” He then passes the mic to Paul Heyman and asks him to tell the people how to properly acknowledge him.

Paul Heyman then takes the mic and talks about how great his Tribal Chief is. He says Roman Reigns doesn’t fear anyone no man, no demon, no beast, but they all fear Roman Reigns. As Paul Heyman was talking, surprisingly the new WWE Champion Big E interrupted the segment.

As Big E entered the ring, everyone in the arena started chanting “You Deserve It.” Big E walks straight into the face of Roman Reigns, who was seen laughing at the newly crowned WWE Champion. As Big E stood before Roman Reigns, he raised his title (WWE Championship) above his head, The Prince Finn Balor’s music hit and he came out.
