WWE Smackdown: New Plans in talks for the Intercontinental Championship:The Intercontinental Championship is among the most prestigious titles in WWE. Many Hall of Famers have held the title with utmost grace and pride over the years, and currently, Apollo Crews has its possession.
Last week on WWE Smackdown, Apollo Crews defended his title in a fatal 4-way match, and courtesy of Aleister Black’s interference- managed to retain the title. With Aleister Back hitting a Black Mass on Big E, it seems like the former New Day member is out of the title picture for the time being. But who is net in the line to challenge Crews?
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer has looked into this situation closely, and according to him, Kevin Owens is the next man in line.
Kevin Owens is a two-time Intercontinental Champion
Kevin Owens is a former 2-time Intercontinental Champion. In the past, he had a one-on-one non-title match against Apollo Crews which he lost, courtesy of some outside disturbance from Commander Azeez.
A source has also revealed that Big E will be moving out of the title picture and start a new feud against Aleister Black, meanwhile, Kevin Owens will be active in the Intercontinental Championship picture.
“They give Aleister Black a program with Big E. Big E is out of the Intercontinental thing. I don’t know… so, it could be Kevin Owens [for the IC Title] just go harder with him because Sami is a heel, so Kevin Owens is probably the likely guy [against Apollo Crews].”
This Friday night, we should get more clarity over the Intercontinental title picture, as well as the budding feud between Aleister Black and Big E. Tune in to WWE Smackdown this Friday on FOX network at 8/7c. The Indian viewers can watch WWE Smackdown on Sony Sports Network.
