WWE Smackdown: Paul Heyman will have a major role to play in the upcoming feud between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate, who will return to WWE Smackdown this week, has his sights set on the Universal Champion and Paul Heyman’s newest client Roman Reigns. Recently Heyman sat down with Joseph Staszewski of The New York Post to promote the upcoming WWE Smackdown supershow at Madison Square Garden.

Heyman was asked about how much he is looking forward to telling the story between Reigns and Lesnar. He said,
“I think we all knew this situation was going to come to a head someday. From the moment I appeared on WWE SmackDown television with Roman Reigns, it was, ‘Oh my God what is Brock Lesnar’s advocate doing with Roman Reigns now?’”
He further added,
“This is an unanswered question that has to be addressed and no better place to address it than Brock Lesnar’s first appearance on television in 18 months in The World’s Most Famous Arena Madison Square Garden live on television.”
WWE Smackdown: Paul Heyman’s association with Brock Lesnar has always been robust
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman’s association has been one of the most prolific manager-client associations in the history of the pro-wrestling business. Before shocking the world with his return at Summerslam last month, Lesnar’s last appearance on WWE TV came at Wrestlemania 36 in 2020 when he dropped the coveted WWE title against Drew McIntyre.
Paul Heyman was associated with Lesnar back then, but after Summerslam 2020, Heyman has been a Special Counsel to the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Even if you look at The Beast Incarnate’s return last month at Summerslam PPV, when he confronted Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman was seen begging for mercy from his former client and left the ring with the Universal Champion.
Brock is expected to work as a babyface in this feud, and the biggest challenge for him would be to cut his promos without Heyman by his side. For years, Paul Heyman has been cutting some ballistic promos for the Beast Incarnate, but now he has teased that there would be plenty of twists & turns in this latest run of the Beast Incarnate. Heyman said,
“I don’t know if we end up in a situation where Brock Lesnar can’t go after a different championship other than Roman Reigns’ & he can have his advocate, and Roman Reigns can have his special counsel. There’s a lot of decisions to be made, and there’s a lot of scenarios that can play out, and I dare suggest anyone who thinks that they have this figured out doesn’t have a clue as to the twists and turns that could and will come in the near future.”
