WWE Smackdown – Smackdown Results and Highlights: Check out the big highlights and what happened on WWE Friday Night Smackdown Episode on July 17th: Friday Night WWE Smackdown will be a revolutionary affair. For the first time since April 2020, the Blue brand will welcome live crowds as tomorrow’s event will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Three matches have been announced for the night, with almost every top star from the Blue brand in action. Below is the list of matches.

  • The Usos & Roman Reigns vs. The Mysterio’s & Edge
  • Finn Balor returns
  • Shotzi & Nox vs. Tamina & Natalya

  • Otis vs. Cesaro
  • Fatal 4-way match- Kevin Owens vs. Big E vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins

WWE Smackdown Results and Highlights:- 

Fatal 4-way match- Kevin Owens vs. Big E vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins- All the 4 men are in the ring, and we are ready for the main event. The Fatal 4-way got underway with Seth Rollins opting to go outside the ring, but Big-E hit him with a spear on the apron. Big-E was taken out by a Cannon Ball dive outside the ring by Kevin Owens, while King Nakamura hit a diving knee from the apron on Owens.

The action continued after the commercial. Owens and Big E were inside the ring fighting it out. Both the heavyweights were on the top turnbuckle and with some assist from Nakamura, Kevin Owens got superplexed by Big E and the King.

After the massive superplex, Big E hit a massive Big Ending on Nakamura and went for a pin but Seth Rollins broked at 2-count. Rollins took Shinsuke outside the ring and slammed him on the announce table. Seth Rollins set up the ladder next to the announce table to dive on Shunsuke, but Kevin Owens intercepted and got himself in the position on the ladder and dived right onto the chest of Nakamura.

Meanwhile, in the ring, Big E was looking for a Big Ending on Seth Rollins, but Rollins turned the tables and hit a stomp on Big E with a ladder placed underneath his skull to close the match. After the match got over, Seth Rollins climbed the ladder and took the Money in the Bank briefcase in his hands.

WWE Smackdown Results: Seth Rollins pinned Big E to secure a victory.

 

 

In the ring- A dejected Baron Corbin entered the ring and addressed the crowd. He said that the last few weeks have been the most difficult ones in my entire life. He said that he lost his crown, his investments, car, expenses, and everything.

He said he is going through the worst phase of his life both financially and emotionally. He said to get out of these dark times, he has started a crowd fundraiser for himself. He kneeled down and urged people to donate and help him overcome his financial crises.

Just when he kneeled down and urged people to help him, Kevin Owens made his way out in the ring. Corbin asked Kevin to help him financially. Corbin said, Kevin if you can’t spend on your wardrobe, then please help me. After hearing about his wardrobe, Kevin got pissed and hit Corbin with a Stunner.

 

 

Backstage- Paul Heyman gets interviews and he says that Roman Reigns will beat the hell out of Edge. Just as he was speaking Big E intervened and said that Edge has your boy’s (Roman Reigns) numbers.

 

 

Otis vs. Cesaro- Cesaro entered the ring holding his abdomen that was attacked backstage. Otis targeted Cesaro’s abdomen, but a clubbing blow from Otis just ruffled his feathers.

Cesaro however got back somehow and slammed Otis shoulder first on the ring post, but Gable came from behind to hit a german suplex on Cesaro to disqualify the bout. After the match, Cesaro was assaulted by Otis & Gable.

Backstage- Otis & Chad Gable talk about their Alpha Academy. Gable says that Otis will face Cesaro tonight. In a few moments, Cesaro gets into the picture, and before the match gets attacked by Otis.

 

 

Smackdown Women’s Championship- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella- As the bell rung, both ladies pushed each other. Carmella then slapped Bianca and ran outside the ring while Bianca followed to catch her.

Bianca took control with some hectic strikes, but Carmella got her momentum when she slammed Bianca shoulder-first on the ring post. She continued her assault and slammed Bianca on the barricade and rolled her inside the ring for a close 2-count.

After the commercial, both ladies were in the ring and Bianca was freaking attacks on Carmella and slamming her from turnbuckle to turnbuckle before slamming her right in the middle of the ring. The two ladies then went on the top turnbuckle and Carmella slammed Bianca right into the ring with a roll-up 450 slam.

After that Carmella locked Bianca from her neck that saw the champ almost fading. However, Bianca displayed extraordinary strength and planted a vertical slam. In the closing moments, Bianca hit Carmella in the abdomen with her braid and took Carmella out with a riveting Kiss of Death.

Shotzi & Nox vs. Tamina & Natalya- The debutants of last week, Nox & Shotzi are back this week as well, and they will be taking on the same opponents from the last week i.e., Natalya & Tamina. Shotzi & Tamina started the proceedings with Tamina’s brute force coming off pretty well.

Shotzi was feeling the heat from the Women’s Tag team champions and she somehow tagged in Nox. Nox took care of both Natalya and Tamina and looked pretty impressive. During the match, Zelina Vega and Liv Morgan were present at the commentary table.

The two ladies were commenting on each other and finally, a brawl erupted at the ringside which distracted Natalya who was going for a Sharp-shooter on Nox inside the ring. The distraction helped Nox roll up Natalya and she picked up a victory.

WWE Smackdown Results: Nox defeated Natalya via Pinfall.

After the match got over, Natalya & Tamina took down Zelina Vega, but Liv Morgan proved too good for the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Liv took care of both Natalya & Tamina and stood tall in the end while pointing towards the Money in the Bank briefcase.

 

 

In the ring- Sami Zayn is in here and he talks about Justice. While he was addressing the WWE Universe. Finn Balor music hit and out came the first-ever Universal Champion. Yes! Yes! Yes! The Prince is back on the Blue brand.

Finn makes his way into the ring and catches Sami Zayn off-guard. He hit him with a Coup de Grace and close-off the segment in style.

 

 

Backstage- Edge got interviewed by Kayla Braxton. While he was speaking to Kayla, Rollins entered the picture and said that Edge, you can’t defeat Roman. He also mentioned that when he will win the Money in the Bank ladder match, he will make sure he cashes in.

 

The Usos & Roman Reigns vs. The Mysterio’s & Edge- All the competitors made their way to the ring with Edge getting a massive pop.

The match started after a commercial. Roman was playing mind games with the Rated-R Superstar and Jey attacked him from behind. However, he couldn’t do much with the attack and got humbled by Edge soon.

Jey and Jimmy were operating in the team from Team Roman meanwhile both the Mysterio’s & Edge were in command from Team Edge. Roman Reigns finally got a the and dragged Dominik out of the ring. He took him back & forth inside, outside.

Roman, just like always kept chatting and begging ‘Acknowledge Me” and power bombed Dominik on the announce table.

After the commercial, Jey & Dominik were in the ring with Dominik somehow tagging Edge who changed the complexion. He attacked all the three members simultaneously, Meanwhile Roman Reigns was clearing traffic on the outside, but got speared by Edge.

In the final moments, Rey got a shot from the outside of the ring by Jimmy and Jey rolled him up for a pinfall.

After the match, Roman, Jey & Jimmy assaulted The Mysterio’s, but Edge calmed things down with a chair shot on the twins. Roman came from behind and hit him with a Superman punch.

Roman then tried putting Edge into the chair-rod Crippler Crossface, but Edge Speared him and humiliated him with yet another Chair-rod Crippler Crossface and raised the Universal Title in the air.
