WWE Smackdown- Smackdown Results and Highlights:

Roman Reigns vs. Montez Ford: The two men started off with going for a side headlock simultaneously. Montez Ford then stuns the egoistic Roman Reigns with two dropkicks in a row and the champ goes out of the ring furiously, as we head to a commercial break.

The match resumed after the commercial break and both men were in the ring. As expected, Roman was dominating Montez by taking him to the corner and slamming his chest with continuous right-hand strikes.

Ford got into the act somehow with a series of chest chops and then sent Roman outside the ring from over the ropes with a clothesline. He continued the attack on the Tribal Chief on the outside and then rolled him inside the ring. Now, Roman got back to his best and started his offense yet again before we go into yet another commercial.

As we returned from the commercial Roman Reigns held Ford’s head and got it on the top rope. Montez then returned with a kick on the face of Roman that rocked the champion. He then continued with his extraordinary high-flying skills, but Roman, after getting stunned by Ford, broke the momentum by slamming Ford back-first on the mat.

Roman then went for a Superman punch but Ford countered by a DDT of his own. Ford then slammed Roman shoulder first on the corner post, and then went on the top turnbuckle for his finisher Frog Splash. However, Roman put his knees up on time and Ford landed miserably. Roman then locked Ford in a Gaiety to wrap up the match.

After the match ended, Paul Heyman asked Roman Reigns to show Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor how extreme he could go by dismantling Ford. The Usos then came out to assist Roman Reigns and the three men started assaulting Montez Ford for good. After a series of chair shots, Roman Reigns & The Usos put Ford through the table outside the ring.

Just when Roman was done putting Ford through the table, Demon Finn Balor arrived and jumped from the top of the ring post onto the Bloodline to take all the three men down. He then pulled out a Kendo Stick and started hitting it on both The Usos before Roman came from behind and send him inside the ring.

Roman grabbed a chair and entered the ring but Balor put him down with a sling blade and went for a series of chair shots on the back of Roman Reigns. The Usos came to help their cousin but Balor slammed the chair into their guts and they were sent out from the apron itself. In the meantime, Roman Reigns rolled out of the ring, but the Demon Balor came running and jump off the top rope on Roman Reigns to end the night.

 

 

Naomi in the ring: Naomi finally comes out to the ring and talks about how she has been disrespected by Sonya week after week. She then said that she wants a match tonight at any cost against any lady in the locker room. This forced Sonya Deville to walk out and she again pulled the trigger by saying that Naomi won’t get a match tonight.

Naomi asked Sonya if she don’t have an opponent for her, why can’t she face Sonya herself. To this Sonya replied that she is a WWE official and no longer competes and added that everyone knows she would smack the Glow right off her face. Shen then directed to cut off Naomi’s mic and asked the security to take her (Naomi) backstage.

 

 

Backstage: Dominik Mysterio blames Rey Mysterio for his last two weeks’ losses against Sami Zayn. Rey didn’t felt good and left the locker room. Then Dominik was confronted by Sami Zayn who just gave him a piece of advice. He said that it is better for him (Dominik) to trust his instincts instead of listening to his father.

 

 

Nikki A.S.H vs. Natalya: The newly crowned Women’s Tag-Team Champions Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley are here on Smackdown and Nikki will be facing Natalya in a few moments. AS the bell rung, Natalya put Nikki in a side headlock and the two ladies exchanged strikes.

The veteran Natalya looked good in the early stages as she took Nikki to the corner and attacked her with constant right and left strikes. Tamina who was there for her partner Natalya climbed the apron and tried distracting the referee. This resulted in Nikki A.S.H rolling up Natalya for a pinfall victory.

After the match got over, Shotzi & Nox came out on their funky tank and it seems like they are the next in line to challenge Nikki A.S.H & Rhea Ripley.

 

Premiere of Happy Corbin’s talk show- “Happy Talk”: Happy Corbin introduces his talk show “Happy Talk.” He then made it clear this talk show is all about happiness unlike the “Kevin Owens Show” where everyone is embarrassed by going through beating.

He then introduces the first guest of the show, and it was none other than Happy Corbin himself. He then rolled up the footage of beating down Kevin Owens last week and was watching it with pride. While he was talking, the WWE Universe was chanting for Kevin Owens.

While Corbin was blabbering about himself, Kevin Owens music hit and he came out looking ridiculously furious. As he was about to enter the ring, Riddick Moss came out of nowhere and attacked Owens in ambush. The assault turned into a 2 on 1 as both Corbin and Moss attacked Corbin and ended up planting a double chokeslam on Owens on the steel stairs.

 

 

Zelina Vega vs. Liv Morgan: Before the bell could have rung, Carmella came out walking on the ramp and grabbed a seat on the commentary table. Liv Morgan started the proceedings with a vicious dropkick and then jumped on the back of Zelina near the ropes.

Zelina got her opportunity and grabbed Morgan for an Anaconda pose submission. Morgan somehow got away from the hold, but Carmella came ringside to distract her. Morgan was then kicked on the head by Zelina and the latter put the former through a sunset flip for a pinfall and win.

Backstage: Seth Rollins is done waiting for Edge and he wants him to appear next week on Friday Night Smackdown and come up with an answer for his (Seth’s) challenge. Also, Seth Rollins is ready to go to any lengths to get answers from the Rated-R Superstar.

 

 

Backstage: Paul Heyman approached Sonya Deville & Adam Pearce to give them a main event for the night. He said Roman Reigns vs. Montez Ford for the main event. Pearce & Deville liked the idea and the match is official.

 

 

Backstage: Montez Ford got interviewed by Kayla Braxton and he called The Usos “The Bloodline’s Bitch.” 

This made Roman Reigns furious and he asked Paul Heyman that he wants to face Ford tonight.

 

Intercontinental Championship- Apollo Crews vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (c): Both men started with flashing strikes on each other, and it was Crews who took the advantage early on by sending the champ on the floor outside the ring as we head into the commercial.

As we returned from the commercial, both men were inside the ring, while Rick Boogs played Nakamura’s music on his guitar. King Nakamura took control by sliding into Crews and slamming him back-first from the ring ropes. He then went to the top turnbuckle for a splash but was caught by a dropkick from the challenger.

After exchanging some strike, Crews planted a Samoan Drop on the champion and looked in control. tables turned though and it seemed like Nakamura was ready to deliver a Kinshasa, however, Crews rolled out to get out of harm’s way.

Nakamura also went outside and kicked Commander Azeez who was later caught by Rick Boogs who delivered an unbelievable belly-to-belly. In the ring, Shinsuke Nakamura went for an arm-drag roll-up pin to win the match and retain his title.

Becky Lynch kicks off the night: Becky is in the ring and she talks about what happened last week and how she claimed the women’s title at Summerslam after becoming a mother.

She explained how she was forced to put Bianca in a manhandle slam last week because she didn’t have any choice. As she was talking, Bianca’s music hit, and out came the EST of WWE.

She entered the ring and went face to face with The Man. Bianca told Becky to, first of all, keep her parent’s name out of her mouth. She then continued that she was disrespected last week at her hometown and still she lifted her (Becky) right above her shoulder while she was wearing heels.

Bianca continued by saying that she never knew whom she was facing at Summerslam and that is why she lost in 26 seconds. Bianca further added that this won’t happen at Extreme Rules as she will become the newest Smackdown Women’s Champion at the PPV event.

After she was done saying, she offered her hand for a handshake, but Becky responded with a slap on Bianca’s face. This made Bianca furious and she bashed upon Becky in agony. The two women had a braw and finally we witnessed a Kiss of Death from Bianca which floored Becky for good.
