WWE Smackdown – Smackdown Results: The Demon Finn Balor returned after 2 long years
Finn Balor has returned with his alter-ego after two long years. His last appearance as the Demon came back in 2019 before moving for his second stint on WWE’s Black & Gold brand i.e., WWE NXT.
Balor and Reigns had a Universal Championship match last week on Friday Night Smackdown. Balor was left high and pounding even before the bell rang by a vicious beatdown from The Usos.- This made Balor vulnerable for the match, and despite putting up an overwhelming show being less than 100%, he failed to get over Roman Reigns. After the match got over, a red light flashed for a second or two covering the entire arena. Many speculated that the Demon might return next week and the same happened tonight at Madison Square Garden.

Balor is expected to carry his demon persona into Extreme Rules PPV and challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. If Balor loses at Extreme Rules as the Demon (which is definitely going to happen as Brock Lesnar will face Roman next for the Universal Title)- this would be the first time Finn Balor will lose in a match as his alter-ego. “The Demon” Balor is set to be treated like a scapegoat for Roman Reigns.
