The latest episode of WWE Smackdown is going to be cracker one after the major announcement of a Championship that will take place between Sasha Banks and Bayley. Moreover, it will be interesting to catch out how the Smackdown team will line up for Survivor Series in this latest episode of Smackdown.
After last week’s mammoth ending of the show where Jey Uso finally admitted Roman reigns as the head of the Tribal Chief. Uso then took out Daniel Bryan and caused him injury while jumping from the top of the ring.
Moving ahead let us check out here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around for this week.
5) Some WWE Stars Are Unhappy With Survivor Series
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there are some people in WWE who are unhappy with the company doing the RAW vs Smackdown theme at Survivor Series.
This is because there is a feeling that the theme gets in the way of any pre-existing storylines. Meltzer ended up using Randy Orton as an example, who won’t get to finish any of his current feuds before facing Roman Reigns at the event. Here is what he said:
“They are doing matches because traditionally, that’s what they do. Again, the Survivor Series men and women’s match that’s fine. Whoever it’s going to be, the Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton match, it’s like they are doing it to do it. Granted, Roman Reigns has no opponent, but Orton does and they aren’t doing it, and it’s not like Roman Reigns is on the show this week doing something with Orton. I mean, Orton’s program is with McIntyre and the subtle thing with The Fiend, well maybe not even that subtle, and it has nothing to do with the pay-per-view because they’re locked into this traditional thing. I know a lot of people are, what’s the word I’m looking for, I know people who are not in agreement on that, in the sense of why do we have to do Bobby Lashley against Sami Zayn when nobody wants to see it, just because last year we did it this way.”
We do feel like the brand supremacy thing is weak. There needs to be some sort of prize on the line to make fans care about the battle between RAW and Smackdown.
4) How WWE Views Bray Wyatt & Alexa Bliss
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE views Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt as babyfaces.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
With the addition of Bliss at Wyatt’s side, playing roles similar to DC Comics’ The Joker and Harley Quinn, the question as to where they stand came up again overnight. Internally, they are considered babyfaces by the company.
They don’t feel like baby faces to me. So far, they seem more like Tweeners. I guess we will have to wait and see.
3) Change To Matt Riddle’s Character
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Monday Night Live, WWE has pitched turning Matt Riddle into a more serious character moving forward.
Here is what Sapp said:
“I do know that they had pitched a more serious thing and apparently a little bit of a push, it would not surprise me to see him and on Team RAW as early as tonight even though he already lost to Sheamus – but yeah, things looking good for Matt Riddle in WWE.” We will be interested to see how Riddle does as a serious character. He does have an impressive MMA background, so it could work. We will have to wait and see.
2) WWE’s Plan For Lana
According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Lana will eventually get some revenge on Nia Jax and put her through a table. This comes after Lana has been put through a table by Nia for the past several weeks on RAW.
Here is what the site wrote:
WrestlingNews.co reached out to a WWE source about Lana and we were told that she will eventually get back at Jax by putting her through a table. The source was adamant that Vince McMahon is not holding a grudge and there is no heat on her because of her husband signing with AEW.
We definitely see Lana putting Nia and maybe even Shayna Baszler through a table. This will give her some momentum before she is on Team RAW at Survivor Series. This would make sense as they need to make Lana feel like a formidable opponent before the event.
1) “Something Different” Planned For The Royal Rumble
According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE is planning something different for the Royal Rumble PPV in 2021.
The account first noted that WWE’s next arena after the ThunderDome is expected to last into February. The account also says that WWE is planning “something different” for the 2021 Royal Rumble PPV. This will likely include fans. Here is what the account Tweeted:
Big day for voting, go vote. But this is WrestleVOTES so…
Regardless of the next location for the ThunderDome, it is expected to last into February. However, WWE is working on something different for the Royal Rumble event. They want fans, even if it’s just for that one show.
We could see them trying to do a big stadium event at limited capacity. This would be similar to what the NFL is doing for their games. That is the only thing that we can think of right now.
