WWE Smackdown: Three things that could take place this Friday Night on WWE Smackdown

WWE Smackdown: The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is gearing up to host this Friday Night’s WWE Smackdown. The Blue brand has been topping the charts for WWE in recent times, however, the viewership numbers saw a sightly downward shift compared to the numbers generated a week before.

Keeping that in mind, no match has been announced yet for this week’s show, but we have predicted three scenarios that could take place this week on WWE Smackdown. Let’s have a look.

WWE Smackdown: Rey Mysterio vs. Jey Uso

The rift between The Usos and the Mysterio’s will possibly continue this week with a singles match between Rey Mysterio & Jey Uso. Last week, Dominik battled Jimmy that saw the latter coming on to the top courtesy of some assistance from his twin brother Jey.

The son fought pretty well until Jey spilled the beans to help his brother win the bout. This week, we could see Rey Mysterio taking on Jey Uso to settle the score.

WWE Smackdown: John Cena to address the Universal Championship scenario

John Cena’s proposal to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WWE Summerslam wasn’t apprehended by the champion. He rejected the proposal saying that he doesn’t want to see Cena at Summerslam.

However, out of the Blues, “The Prince” Finn Balor burst into the scene and challenged Roman for the Universal Championship. After a brief discussion with his special counsel Paul Heyman and after getting furious at the crowd chanting “Roman’s Scared,” the champ finally accepted Balor’s challenge.

Finn Balor and Roman Reigns will battle at some stage with the Universal Championship on the line, but it would be interesting to see what’s John Cena’s take on the present scenario. He might show up this week and address this Universal Championship conundrum.

WWE Smackdown: Kevin Owens & Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode

Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode should acknowledge Baron Corbin, because thanks to him, they will have something to show up on Friday night Smackdown after quite a while. Since losing their Tag-Team Championship to the Mysterio’s at Wrestlemania Backlash in May 2021, this would only be their second match as Tag-Team.

Last week, when Kevin Owens gave some money to a broke Baron Corbin, a mistaken tank shot from Tegan Nox took down Corbin. Ziggler and Roode took advantage and flew away with the money, as Corbin was reeling in pain. Owens rushed to Corbin’s aid, but it was all too late.

From the scenes we witnessed last week, it seems like Corbin is all set to get a Face turn for the first time in his career and might get aligned with Kevin Owens. Ziggler & Roode vs. the unforeseen alliance of Baron Corbin & Kevin Owens will be something refreshing on the Blue brand.
