Yuvraj Singh might have announced his retirement from international and first class cricket. That does not mean the end of playing career for him.
The dashing all-rounder from Punjab has padded up for his innings post retirement. He has inked a deal to play in the Global T20 Canada from the next month. The seasoned pro will turn up for Toronto Nationals.
Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj while announcing his retirement from all cricket under the aegis of the Board of Control for Cricket in India earlier this month had hinted that he would continue to play in overseas professional leagues. The retirement in fact was inspired by his decision to play professional cricket globally.
“With BCCI’s permission, I would love to go, play and have fun for this year or maybe next year. I don’t know what’s left in me. It has been a very long and hard journey and I think I deserve that. I have had a word with BCCI and will have another after this announcement. Hopefully, it will be easy sailing for me,” Yuvraj said during his retirement speech.
Yuvraj’s Chandigarh city-mate Manpreet Singh Gony is also named in the squad of Toronto Nationals.
